What goes wrong without it
Most businesses do not lack data. Sales sit in one system, expenses in accounting software, stock in another tool, website traffic in Google Analytics and campaign results in the ad platforms. What they lack is a reliable, combined view that answers the questions managers ask every week.
So reporting becomes a manual job. Someone exports files from several systems, cleans them, pastes them into a master spreadsheet and builds charts. The report arrives days after the period ends, takes hours to prepare and is hard to question. Different departments bring different numbers for the same metric because each defines it differently.
Decisions then rest on instinct or on the loudest voice in the room. Problems such as slowing collections, a branch falling behind or rising returns on one product are noticed late, when they are harder and costlier to fix.
